An academic giant, renowned scholar, a beloved patriarch, and a “serial survivor”, Professor Mark Anikpo’s life is a testament to resilience and divine grace. From a challenging childhood in the Warders Barracks in Enugu and the front lines of the Biafra-Nigeria war, to a blazing academic career that took him from the University of Nigeria to the halls of Cambridge; his journey is one of sheer grit and unyielding determination. An Emeritus Professor, former Vice Chancellor and Fellow of the Social Science Academy of Nigeria, his greatest pride remains his family and his unwavering faith.
Dr. (Mrs.) Fanny O. Anikpo (Ochiora)
The family’s exemplary matriarch, Dr. (Mrs.) Fanny Anikpo is the heart that unites a generation. While dedicating her life to raising her four sons and countless relatives who grew up under her roof, she simultaneously forged a noteworthy career in academia. A teacher, university lecturer, and PhD holder, her life is a profound story of strength, nurturing, and quiet excellence. Her devotion, wisdom, and leadership are the cornerstones of the Anikpo legacy.

For over 45 years, Mark and Fanny have built a life centered on faith, family, and excellence. Their partnership, which began in Mmaku and flourished in Port Harcourt, has been a beacon of love and stability, creating a legacy that now shines through their four sons, numerous relatives and many grandchildren.
